DUDE

ok, so honestly, i don't even know what lent is.  i was in wegmans and i saw someone with the ash thingy on their head.  yeah, dunno.  wait, ash wednesday right?  DUDE.
last night, i played a little indoor...late.late.  it's just really annoying because by the time i get home, it is midnight, and then after showering, i need a little time to simmer.  too late to have to wake up at 6am.  but i guess it's worth it.  hi - i'm watching american idol.  so much talent!  go country music.  DUDE.  oh no, the asian made it in.
love this, well, not the annoying song, but motivation factor is like whoah.  DUDE.

i'll race you

today i signed up for the baltimore 10-miler to take place on June 16, 2012.  cake.  yesterday, i signed up for the famous broad street run for May 6, 2012, the largest 10-miler in the country.  not cake.  apparently, everyone wants to run it this year.  it took me 3+ hours to register, since the site was overwhelmed with registrants.  The race apologized on their website (and via twitter):
"Registration for the Blue Cross Broad Street Run has exceeded our wildest expectations with over 30,000 runners registering in a record 5 hours."
Well, what did you think, retard.  you are only the largest 10-miler in the country and you've sold out the last i-don't-know-how-many-years-in-a-row.
I'm thinking one more for this summer...maybe a tri.  ok, prolly a tri.  sheROX?

ALL CAPS

I DECIDED TO POST TODAY IN ALL CAPS, LIKE MY UNCLE EDDIE GASIOROWSKI DOES ON FACEBOOK.  I'M WATCHING SMASH.  HAVE YOU HEARD OF IT?
I THINK IT'S BORDERLINE BORING, BUT FOR SOME REASON, AT THE SAME TIME VERY INTRIGUING.  ONE, BECAUSE IT'S TAPED IN NYC.  TWO, BECAUSE KATHRINE MCPHEE AND DEBRA MESSING ARE IN IT; AND THREE, BECAUSE DEBRA MESSING IS TRYING TO ADOPT A KID FROM CHINA.  PLUS, THERE'S NOTHING ELSE ON.  TONIGHT, MY SOCCER TEAM LOST BY ONE GOAL IN THE LAST 2 MINUTES.  POOR.  THE WORST IS THE FACT THAT I ACTUALLY PLAYED DECENT, BUT MISSED A FEW GOALS THAT I SHOULD HAVE SCORED.  FRUSTRATING.  REMEMBER WHEN SCORING GOALS WAS LIKE CLOCKWORK?  UGH.
I'M LOOKING TO SIGN UP FOR A FEW RACES THIS SPRING/SUMMER.  I'M THINKING BMORE 10 MILER AND PHILLY 10 MILER (BROAD ST. RUN).  10 MILES IS A GOOD DISTANCE, RIGHT?  SIGN-UPS OPEN ON WEDNESDAY.  I HOPE I GET IN.  OH AAAAND A TRI.  REMINDER:  CUT YOUR TOENAILS.

Snow, not enough

Pathetic.  it snowed for about 2 hours yesterday, but melted by the time everything was said and done.  Ugh.  I love summer, but if it has to be cold, why can we not have snow.  I'd like a snow day.  I'd like a shred sesh in powder.  and i'd like to see the beauty in a snow covered landscape.
Anyone know where this is?  looks like a good time...life changing.

I can not hide my love

Kelly Clark is awesome.
Kelly Clark is THE best half pipe rider in the world.  I mean, seriously, she can throw down a 1080 like i can throw down the 2 inches i can get off of the bump in the middle of the blue route.  She is also very open about her faith in Jesus Christ.  You may hear her at the top of the half pipe singing worship songs; she rocks a huge Jesus sticker on her ride (pic from her Instagram).  Here's a little vid of her life and testimony...i know, it's semi-long, but maybe skip to 2:40ish.
i love snowboarding.  i love Jesus.  I love Kelly Clark.

American Saturday Night

She's got Brazilian leather boots on the pedal of her German car
Listenin' to the Beatles singing back in the USSR.
She's goin' around the world tonight, but she ain't leav'n him.
She's just going to meet her boyfriend down at the street fair.

It's a french kiss, italian ice
Spanish moss in the moonlight...
Just another American Saturday Night.
There's a big toga party tonight down at Delta Chi.
They've got Canadian bacon on their pizza pie.
They've got a cooler full of cold Corona and Amstel Light.
It's like we're all liv'n in a big ol' cup
just fire up the blender and mix it all up.

It's a french kiss, italian ice
Spanish moss in the moonlight...
Just another American Saturday Night.

You know everywhere there's something there known for
although usually it washes up on our shores
My great great great granddaddy stepped off that ship
I bet he never ever dreamed we'd have all this.

You know everywhere has somethin' they're known for
although usually it washes up on our shores
Little Italy, Chinatown, sittin' there side by side
live from New York, it's Saturday Night!

It's a french kiss, italian ice
Spanish moss in the moonlight...
Just another American Saturday Night.

game time

so here we are again.  friday night.  tired-weary.  plopped on the couch.  i skipped the workout tonight.  i was too hungry by the time i got home.  One song:  rainy night in georgia :: chris young - love his deep sexy country voice and the jazzy runs he rocks in this song.

USWNT plays Costa Rica - NOW.  game time.  tea time.  peace out.
have an awesome weekend!

What hurts the most is being so close

I love that Rascal Flatts song.
Yesterday...
...it did not end pretty.  Aww, little Billy Cundiff.  He is so cute.  i'm ashamed that he is wearing #7.  DB is too.  It wasn't all bad news though.  The USWNT spanked Guatemala 13-0 (and just a few days after their 14-0 win over the Dominican Republic.)
Talk about making a statement, heh.  Lori Lindsey scored her first career goal with the Natty team.
I love a great personality.
"It's fun to get a goal and put a good team performance together...As was pointed out, I'm 128 goals behind Abby so I feel like she should be getting a little nervous.  I'm right on her heels."  - LL aka Lightning

BS Fridays

yay!  it's friday!  i look forward to Friday nights during busy season.  not that it's busy season, but because i lie on the couch for hours watching tv and sipping chai tea...and i'm totally ok with it.  i'm thinking of remodeling my master bathroom.  i kinda want a bathtub so i can watch tv in the tub. and read. and drink coffee.
tomorrow, i need to do a little food shopping.  i am making some venison chili for the ravens game on Sunday.  sounds delicious.
it's been a long week.  right now, i'm very thankful for my couch.  saturday morning will be here too soon.  see you in the office.
p.s.  quick shout out to my bro - happy birthday!

Today's Forecast

Do you watch Top Chef?  I used to...when i had cable.  friday night, i went with some friends to Graffiato in DC, Mike Isabella's restaurant.  he recently appeared on the Top Chef All-Stars season (ehh, last year i think), but was also on the season with the Voltaggio brothers.  I think i knew him best from his pepperoni sauce that was popular; and yes, the pepperoni sauce was money.  Overall, not bad.  i'm not giving a review, because, in reality, i would tend to just comment on how many calories i ate, which was just WAAAY too much.  we had this hilarious gay waiter that shared stories of he and his boyfriend.  but maybe it was because my friends, or one in particular, kept spurning him on by asking him these great questions:  about the menu, about life...what his favorite Christmas present was.  fun times.  i could not help but just laugh...out loud.

Today, is a big day here in Baltimore. the ravens are in the playoffs at home.  t'would be nice to cheer another week for the black and purple and not have to hear the rants of angry co-workers tomorrow.  I wish it was warm enough outside for an outfit like this, but it's not.  it's cold outside.  Today's forecast:  High of 34, late-night low of 27 with a strong chance of a Ravens win!

I must decrease

I am finding it very difficult these days to long after the Word, to desire for godly things.  I know I'm supposed to, like any good Christian person, but...hm - i don't even know.  It's like I have to force myself to spend time with God...literally force.  why?  you know like that person that you hate, but you have to spend time with them (for whatever reason) at work, school, sports, etc.  annoying, right?  you end up being bitter and then try to avoid them or ignore them.  I am not trying to avoid God - I mean, that IS impossible, but i'm really failing in the Christian living efforts right now.
This is a powerful verse.  MEDITATE.
Today, i heard that it was like 55 degrees outside!  awesome!  i mean, bummer!  i didn't step foot outside until it was dark.  Doh!  how'd it get to being 11 pm already?! arg.  private practice.

What Doesn't Kill You, Makes You Stronger

Busy season is in full swing, which means long days at work and a strict diet and exercise regiment for the next 3 months.  yaaaaay, i'm talking p90x minus the yoga and kempo, plus running and soccer.
Slackers - what doesn't kill you, makes you stronger.

so i bought something from etsy that came in the mail today.  weirdos - along with my purchase, they sent  me 3 cyndi lauper trading cards and a homemade decorative pencil with hair and googley eyes.  hmmmOk, NO...trashed immediately.  wtf, was this supposed to be a free gift or something?  waste.
arg, i'm hungry.  time for shower and bed.

Doctor, Doctor

Happy New Year, ya'll!
So first post of 2012.  yay.  can you believe that this is the 4th year that this thing has been in sesh?  New year...new resolutions?  ok, maybe.  just one that i will share.  and one that i just decided.  I really should go to the doctor and the dentist this year.  I have not gone since college and college has been a while ago.  I guess i really didn't have the need to go, but i should prolly go since i turn the big 3-0 this year - yikes!  that's a new decade.  Plus, I can finally take advantage of the health benefits that i have through my employer...and that i've never used.  woops.

it has been so cold and bitter the last few days.  seriously.  it snowed a bit yesterday.  i'm sure california  and florida are laughing in our faces right now.
(still) looking for the perfect pair of oxfords...shoe shopping is frustrating when you wear a size W5.

Eat. Beat. Sweet. Tweet

Eat:  Breakfast sandwich - egg, bacon, avocado, cheese on toast.
Beat:  Jake Owen - Alone With You
Sweet:  Adult Onesies
tweet: @kellyclarksonI love Ron Paul. I liked him a lot during the last republican nomination and no one gave him a chance. If he wins the nomination for the Republican party in 2012 he's got my vote. Too bad he probably won't (extended via WhoSay)

Things to do before the New Year

Yo - what are you up to this weekend for New Years?  Who's going to NYC?  uummm, def not me.  I think it was last year that i went.  ok, i'm not that dumb, i didn't venture over to Times Square; but still at a party in Manhattan and overrated for sure.
i'm not really a late night person, and therefore, not a new years eve person either.  don't get me wrong, it can be a fun night, but by 11 pm, i struggle to keep my eyes open.  this year, i plan on snowboarding all weekend.  celebrating 12 am on 1.1.12 may be secondary.

I've been pretty unmotivated the past several days.  I'm at work, but not really working.  Heh, i don't just take off days when i have nothing to do.  Really, i'm not wasting my vacation, just because...even though i still have like 19 days to use for this year.  fortunately, they rollover into 2012.  don't judge me.  Anyways, my point to this post is to try and do a quick rundown (for my own sake) of things that i just really NEED to do before the end of the year (or before 1.3.12).
  • I need to clean out my closet and my underwear drawer.
  • ...and a follow up to that...drop off a batch to Goodwill [tax savings] and buy some new underwear.
  • I need to make a few last minute charitable donations before the end of 2011 [tax savings].  suggestions?
  • I need to map out my workout regiment for January - March 2012.
  • I need a haircut.  but i doubt i will actually get one, unless i do it myself.  split ends are like whoah.
  • I need to wash my bed sheets.  It tends to be a semi-annual thing for me, so if i don't take the time to do so, it may revert to an annual thing.
  • I need to revamp and update my budget.  I no longer have roommates.  Eh, any takers?
  • I need to download some new music.  Something fresh; something perhaps motivational and/or inspirational.
Ok, list seems doable right?  but work today and tomorrow and then heading out to Wisp on Friday morning for the weekend.  Oh yeah, and i must'nt forget my return to high school for the alumni basketball game tomorrow night.  Last year, i was unable to play due to injury, so i am semi-excited to shoot a basketball and see old faces.  let's be real though, i expect to be terrible.

Yesterday was awesome.  i did a bunch of nothing.  slept, then watched tv, then slept, then watched some more tv.  aweeeesommme.
sometimes you just need days like that.
iDig:
A well-dressed dude,

Wingtip oxfords,

Penfield Trailwear,
worshiping God,
legit camping,
eggs and bacon (and bones+skulls),
david beckham in strong stylish frames,
a lofty layout and decor,
mounted antlers,
and a well-taken photo (all of the above).
Uh-Oh
here comes busy season.

presents at christmas

lying on the couch watching netflix drinking a brewski...house is quiet and clean, once again...finally.  it was nice to see family; lovely, lovely, i tell you.  i do miss those times though when we used to go to my grandparents house and i got to see all of my cousins.  it's been a few years since i've seen them all.  i guess, times have changed-miss that.  how was christmas for you?  what cool things did santa bring you?  I usually just get $$ every year; my family is practical and we keep it real.  i was pretty proud of myself for getting sweet gifts for everyone though (apple, madewell, UO, and Eddie Bauer did the trick this year).  you must be getting old though when you are excited to get a new microwave for christmas...it's a cool microwave though.  you are jealous, i know.  now i can eat tv dinners rather than home cooked meals.  yessss.
it's a llama-corn.

Christmas Letter 2011

December 24, 2011

Dear friends and family,

It is hard to believe that another year has come and gone.  It's hard to imagine life without e-mail or texting and twitter.  It's hard to imagine putting a pen to paper (and paying for postage); hence, this electronic version of a Christmas letter/2011 in review.  Yay for technology and twitter.

Memorable moments of 2011:
1.  The Women's World Cup:  My sport is soccer so I have to give props to the girls of the USWNT. They were unbelievable this summer.  One of the greatest comebacks I've ever seen.  Absolutely inspirational!  Too bad they didn't win; but nonetheless, I continue to be a fan.  That team will for sure go down in history.  I love when this country is excited about soccer.  Here's to the team's success in London 2012.
2.  Glide Surf Co.:  My brother-in-law and sister opened their surf store in Normandy Beach, NJ in April 2011.
"This core surf boutique celebrates the pureness of surfing and the current renaissance within the surf world."
Very exciting and I'm proud of them for their hard work, creativity and entrepreneurship.  I wish them the best in the upcoming years.  If you are ever at the Jerz Shore...

3.  My brother got married:  Our families traveled down to the Outer Banks, NC for Seth's wedding in May.  Good times all around.  Congratulations Seth and Liz!
4.  The Messiah Women's Soccer team won another national championship:
I love this team.  I love this program.  MWS had an amazing season that ended with the team's 4th national championship, 3 in the last 4 years!
Amazing.  So proud of the program and to have been a part of it and shared in the journey of the team's success! Don't forget to watch them on the NCAA Championships Special on CBS on Sunday, December 25, at 1:00 PM (EST).

5.  My dad retired:  In September 2011, Frank A. Gasiorowski officially retired from working for the army after 40 years!  how crazy is that?  crazy awesome!  for him, that just means more hunting and fishing and working on the house.  perhaps, more working out.  btw, I'm going on 8 years in the work force.  i still have 32 years till i retire.  arg.
See...you love an electronic Christmas card bc it = pics and links to the www.  From concerts, races, Phillies games, work, P90X, Insanity, snowboarding, weddings, parties and soccer to fun times at the Jersey Shore, OCMD, New York, New Mexico, DC, Philadelphia, and Grantham, PA; I hope that you also had a fabulous year.

I know you are wondering, and if you must know; yes, i do still play soccer; but casually and recreationally.  Thankfully, it satisfies my overly competitive nature and aggressive soccer spirit.  I also, currently coach the women's club team at Loyola University (MD).  It has its ups and downs, but no complaints; it's great to be able to give back to the sport that has given me so much.

Truly, I have been blessed beyond measure.  God is good all the time.  I am so grateful for my friends and family and how each one of you has touched my life.  If you are ever in Baltimore, MD, please stop by.  I'd love to meet up, catch up, hang out, or whichever may apply.

There's so much to be thankful for.  God Bless and Merry Christmas!
Hope to see you in 2012.

Jamie "Gaz" Gasiorowski

Luke 2:7 (ESV) "And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in swaddling cloths and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn."...but who would imagine a King...
