Beat:  Jake Owen - Alone With You
Sweet:  Adult Onesies
tweet: @kellyclarksonI love Ron Paul. I liked him a lot during the last republican nomination and no one gave him a chance. If he wins the nomination for the Republican party in 2012 he's got my vote. Too bad he probably won't (extended via WhoSay)

Things to do before the New Year

Yo - what are you up to this weekend for New Years?  Who's going to NYC?  uummm, def not me.  I think it was last year that i went.  ok, i'm not that dumb, i didn't venture over to Times Square; but still at a party in Manhattan and overrated for sure.
i'm not really a late night person, and therefore, not a new years eve person either.  don't get me wrong, it can be a fun night, but by 11 pm, i struggle to keep my eyes open.  this year, i plan on snowboarding all weekend.  celebrating 12 am on 1.1.12 may be secondary.

I've been pretty unmotivated the past several days.  I'm at work, but not really working.  Heh, i don't just take off days when i have nothing to do.  Really, i'm not wasting my vacation, just because...even though i still have like 19 days to use for this year.  fortunately, they rollover into 2012.  don't judge me.  Anyways, my point to this post is to try and do a quick rundown (for my own sake) of things that i just really NEED to do before the end of the year (or before 1.3.12).
  • I need to clean out my closet and my underwear drawer.
  • ...and a follow up to that...drop off a batch to Goodwill [tax savings] and buy some new underwear.
  • I need to make a few last minute charitable donations before the end of 2011 [tax savings].  suggestions?
  • I need to map out my workout regiment for January - March 2012.
  • I need a haircut.  but i doubt i will actually get one, unless i do it myself.  split ends are like whoah.
  • I need to wash my bed sheets.  It tends to be a semi-annual thing for me, so if i don't take the time to do so, it may revert to an annual thing.
  • I need to revamp and update my budget.  I no longer have roommates.  Eh, any takers?
  • I need to download some new music.  Something fresh; something perhaps motivational and/or inspirational.
Ok, list seems doable right?  but work today and tomorrow and then heading out to Wisp on Friday morning for the weekend.  Oh yeah, and i must'nt forget my return to high school for the alumni basketball game tomorrow night.  Last year, i was unable to play due to injury, so i am semi-excited to shoot a basketball and see old faces.  let's be real though, i expect to be terrible.

presents at christmas

lying on the couch watching netflix drinking a brewski...house is quiet and clean, once again...finally.  it was nice to see family; lovely, lovely, i tell you.  i do miss those times though when we used to go to my grandparents house and i got to see all of my cousins.  it's been a few years since i've seen them all.  i guess, times have changed-miss that.  how was christmas for you?  what cool things did santa bring you?  I usually just get $$ every year; my family is practical and we keep it real.  i was pretty proud of myself for getting sweet gifts for everyone though (apple, madewell, UO, and Eddie Bauer did the trick this year).  you must be getting old though when you are excited to get a new microwave for christmas...it's a cool microwave though.  you are jealous, i know.  now i can eat tv dinners rather than home cooked meals.  yessss.
it's a llama-corn.

Christmas Letter 2011

December 24, 2011

Dear friends and family,

It is hard to believe that another year has come and gone.  It's hard to imagine life without e-mail or texting and twitter.  It's hard to imagine putting a pen to paper (and paying for postage); hence, this electronic version of a Christmas letter/2011 in review.  Yay for technology and twitter.

Memorable moments of 2011:
1.  The Women's World Cup:  My sport is soccer so I have to give props to the girls of the USWNT. They were unbelievable this summer.  One of the greatest comebacks I've ever seen.  Absolutely inspirational!  Too bad they didn't win; but nonetheless, I continue to be a fan.  That team will for sure go down in history.  I love when this country is excited about soccer.  Here's to the team's success in London 2012.
2.  Glide Surf Co.:  My brother-in-law and sister opened their surf store in Normandy Beach, NJ in April 2011.
"This core surf boutique celebrates the pureness of surfing and the current renaissance within the surf world."
Very exciting and I'm proud of them for their hard work, creativity and entrepreneurship.  I wish them the best in the upcoming years.  If you are ever at the Jerz Shore...

3.  My brother got married:  Our families traveled down to the Outer Banks, NC for Seth's wedding in May.  Good times all around.  Congratulations Seth and Liz!
4.  The Messiah Women's Soccer team won another national championship:
I love this team.  I love this program.  MWS had an amazing season that ended with the team's 4th national championship, 3 in the last 4 years!
Amazing.  So proud of the program and to have been a part of it and shared in the journey of the team's success! Don't forget to watch them on the NCAA Championships Special on CBS on Sunday, December 25, at 1:00 PM (EST).

5.  My dad retired:  In September 2011, Frank A. Gasiorowski officially retired from working for the army after 40 years!  how crazy is that?  crazy awesome!  for him, that just means more hunting and fishing and working on the house.  perhaps, more working out.  btw, I'm going on 8 years in the work force.  i still have 32 years till i retire.  arg.
See...you love an electronic Christmas card bc it = pics and links to the www.  From concerts, races, Phillies games, work, P90X, Insanity, snowboarding, weddings, parties and soccer to fun times at the Jersey Shore, OCMD, New York, New Mexico, DC, Philadelphia, and Grantham, PA; I hope that you also had a fabulous year.

I know you are wondering, and if you must know; yes, i do still play soccer; but casually and recreationally.  Thankfully, it satisfies my overly competitive nature and aggressive soccer spirit.  I also, currently coach the women's club team at Loyola University (MD).  It has its ups and downs, but no complaints; it's great to be able to give back to the sport that has given me so much.

Truly, I have been blessed beyond measure.  God is good all the time.  I am so grateful for my friends and family and how each one of you has touched my life.  If you are ever in Baltimore, MD, please stop by.  I'd love to meet up, catch up, hang out, or whichever may apply.

There's so much to be thankful for.  God Bless and Merry Christmas!
Hope to see you in 2012.

Jamie "Gaz" Gasiorowski

Luke 2:7 (ESV) "And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in swaddling cloths and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn."...but who would imagine a King...

Bones

My new Netflix obsession is Bones.
Currently, the show is in its 7th season on Fox; however, Seasons 1 through 6 are on Netflix.  I love that Emily Deschanel plays a strong independent female character - this super smart forensic anthropologist.  and she's super socially awkward - even better...and it's one of those murder solving shows, so you get sucked into every episode.  Oh wait, Aaand there's Booth (David Boreanaz) the good-looking FBI agent.  Did I ever tell you I wanted to be an FBI agent?  awwwesoome!  and it of course takes place in DC (i.e. setting in MD, DC, VA).  On those facts alone, the show is the bomb dot com.  I just finished Season 5 - on to S6.  it's good; believe me.
I just bought front and back lights for my bike, kinda like this:
jk. i'm sure you knew that.
Pics i reblogged from Tumblr that i diiigg:
hm.  i must like motorcycles.
V.Becks on a swing!
I hope everyone enjoys a little family+friends, relaxation, and comfort and joy this Christmas weekend.  Remember to celebrate *Jesus Christ*, the one who saved our lives.  MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!

Christmas is in 12 days!

Christmas music is playing on the radio!  Love it.
Shopping is like 75% done.  I'll be cutting it close, again.  It is soo crazy busy in the shopping malls and stores that I'm not sure if I can handle another trip.  on Saturday, I purchased a 'lil Christmas tree and did some minimal decorating at my house...minimal.  I also finally found a decent dress for this weekend's wedding...finally.  It will do - it will do.  Last night, I did a round of P90X and duuuude, i'm real sore today.  I also played soccer last night, so i'm stiff AND sore.  it sucks getting old and slow.  we lost, but it was a good game...very fast paced and intense.  Indoor soccer is crazy sprinting.  boys are fast.
Here's another article on the MWS Championship team!  Can I really say enough?
Enjoy your Tuesday.

In case you missed it

2011 National Champs! (pics from NCAA.com)
It's craaaazy awesome!
Also, I finished The Messiah Method, a book written about the Messiah soccer programs.  (the first book i think i've ready from cover to cover in about 20 years.)  It's a great read if you are a coach, especially if you are a soccer coach.  The method however, can be applicable for any organization or institution.  It's awesome to be able to read and feel the emotion that each of the men and women who were interviewed displayed through their testimonies.  Such special program!  If you want to read, lemme know.  I'll let you borrow my copy!
Ugh!! Christmas is in 2.25 weeks and i need to buy a Christmas tree, decorate my house, and do ALL of my Christmas shopping!  too much, too little time!

Back to the National Championship

I was up early.  bc i went to bed early. bc i was beat from riding all day yest (Taos, NM). and bc the time is 2 hrs behind here in the west.  Unfortunately, i was unable to watch MWS' nail biter win (1-0)  yesterday afternoon.  but fortunately, i was receiving updates via text from a teammate.  (I heard they dominated).  I shouldn't have been so nervous, but i was, based on the 0-0 tie earlier in the season.  the win put MWS back in the NCAA final.  ..and back in the final with Wheaton College, IL.  woo.  this is so great.  playing this team in the final is ideal, bc you know you will be playing a quality, clean team.  MWS got to play wheaton one time when i was playing on the team ('02, i think). and it was a great experience, not only because they were a great soccer team and had quality athletes, but the fact that after the game (which btw, we won), we circled and prayed together, as teams, individuals, but also sisters in Christ.  Although, we were opponents; we were more importantly bonded in JC.  when does that ever happen in NCAA?  So while no doubt this will be a battle with the 2 best D3 Wsoccer teams in the country, i think there will be a mutual respect for 2 great programs, and respect for each player. and at the end of the day, the loser will love the winner and the winner will love the loser, each and collectively playing for an audience of ONE.
oh and btw, here's the NCAA link to the highlights of the game.  game winner was siiiick, starting at 0:32.  i already watched it like 6 times consecutively.

Time Out

So I have to apologize. I didn't get around to do a real post. I'm currently taking a time out from real life. Actually, I'm blogging from my phone - that's a first. I'm waiting at BWI and flying out to Albuquerque - that's New Mexico, if you didn't know. Yeah, new Mexico one of those western states that is kinda close to the Grand Canyon. I'm looking forward to visiting one of my good friends from my childhood. She just moved out there recently for work. We do plan on going snowboarding one day, so I'm super stoked about that. Maybe some hiking, just Exploring and hanging/chilling. Unfortunately, I prob won't be able to watch MWS play tomorrow. They had better win so I can watch on Saturday. Because I'm on my phone I can't provide the link but I'm sure you can find the link on one of my recent posts. Here's how the bracket looks:
K. Maybe I'll post later...and edit so it looks better.
